BMO’s massive new Toronto office is a wellness hub for over 3,000 staff

This definitely isn’t your grandpa’s bank office. BMO Place is the latest high-tech hub to open in downtown Toronto, and the innovative office claims to be a “cutting-edge example” of “the future of work.”

“The 350,000 square foot space will be home to over 3,000 employees and is purposely designed to attract and retain the next generation of top talent to the city of Toronto,” said BMO about the new hub.

BMO Place is located in the busiest part of town, right at Dundas Square. It features all kinds of amenities that prioritize accessibility, collaboration, inclusivity, and wellness for staff.

That includes “new collaborative technology, hackable workspaces, and connection cafes” on each floor, as well as 9,500 square feet of outdoor terraces to soak up the sun while you work.

The other features are a wellness centre for mediation, prayer and nursing, and multiple wellness rooms throughout.

As for accessibility and inclusivity, the office has gender-neutral and barrier-free washrooms, braille and voice-enabled elevators, and neurodiversity-friendly colour strategies to help navigate the space.

And that’s not all. Employees will have access to a recreation room, as well as a smudging room and sharing circle for some deep connection in between meetings.

“Every aspect of the space has been created to foster personal connections and inspire innovation through features such as ergonomic workstations,” says BMO.

If this is the kind of environment you want to work in, you can explore the open jobs on BMO’s careers page.

And if you find yourself working at BMO Place in the future, we’re inviting ourselves over for coffee on the terrace.
