This Canadian city was named one of the world’s best places to spend Christmas

Between the snow-covered trees and historic architecture, Christmas is a magical time of year in many parts of Canada. But, one city in particular has been named one of the best places in the world to spend Christmas.

Condé Nast Traveler has released a list of the 32 best places around the globe to spend the holiday season.

According to the outlet, these global destinations are known for keeping the “holiday cheer going year after year.”

This list features a little bit of everything, from authentic European Christmas experiences to urban cities and exotic destinations with festive cheer.

The one and only Canadian city included in the list is none other than Quebec City, one of the oldest cities in North America.

The “colonial French architecture” gives Quebec City “an unmistakably European feel,” writes Condé Nast Traveler.

“The cobbled streets of the Old Town are packed with quaint shops and delicious bistros, all merrily decorated for the holidays.”

The city’s key attraction is the Au 1884 toboggan slide, the article says. The four-passenger toboggan whisks you down the slide at speeds of up to 70 km/hour.

As for accommodations, the article names the Auberge Saint-Antoine hotel, which was recently named one of the best hotels in the world.

This hotel’s “lobby fireplace, heated bathroom floors, and a Christmas package” make it one of the finest places to stay during the holidays.

The Christmas package includes a “five-course dinner, holiday movie screenings at the in-house theater, and a personal visit from Santa in your room,” the article says.

Below are some of the other destinations that have been named the best places in the world to spend Christmas:

  • Bethlehem, Pennsylvania
