This Toronto plant shop is giving away free succulents to celebrate its reopening

Be Leaf Plant Store & More will soon open its doors for the upcoming season, and to celebrate, it’s giving away free succulents. Here’s what to know.

Although it may not feel like it, spring is just a few days away, on March 20, 2026. That’s also the same day the beloved West Queen West plant shop plans to reopen.

Reopening at Be Leaf Plant Store & More

In an effort to “help Torontonians bring a little greenery home after a long winter,” the independently owned shop will hand out free succulents to the first 100 customers who spend at least $15. These are limited to one per customer, while supplies last.

“Spring is the perfect time to bring new life into your home,” said Nathan Benhamou, owner of Be Leaf Plant Store & More. “After a long winter, we wanted to celebrate the season by giving people something living to take home. A succulent is a small but meaningful way to welcome spring indoors.”

The beloved shop, located at 706 Queen St. W., has served the neighbourhood for the past three years. Husband-and-wife duo Nathan Benhamou and Yael Glina-Benhamou are behind the gem, which specializes in Canadian-grown plants and products from Canadian makers.

Along with an assortment of plants, the store carries global finds like greeting cards, stickers, keychains, and other small treasures.

Are you a new plant parent? The shop also offers advice to beginners who simply want to give their plants the best life.

“The team also shares care guidance and sends customers home with simple plant care instructions to help their plants thrive,” shares the shop. “For many customers, bringing greenery into their home is not only about décor but also about creating a calming, nurturing living space.”

If a spring cleaning is on your schedule and you’re hoping to bring some life to your home, stop by the store on March 20. And hey, maybe you’ll get a freebie to take care of.
