If you happen to take BC Ferries regularly then we have some good news for you. And that is that the ferry line has introduced new fare options for Vancouver Island-Lower Mainland routes. So maybe that means a ferry trip is in order this spring.
BC Ferries has two new fares for people traveling between Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland. They’re known as the “Prepaid” and “Saver” fares which not only give you a better deal but also reduce your wait time. But before you get too excited these will only become available when provincial travel restrictions have lifted.

And on that note, both fares are only available at Tsawwassen–Swartz Bay, Tsawwassen–Duke Point, and Horseshoe Bay–Departure Bay. But the Saver fare will cost you $49 to $73.70 which is well worth waiting for. Oh, and before we forget, that includes a free ferry reservation. As for the Prepaid, it basically saves you $7.
Now with all this in mind, the cheapest routes will be the least busy routes. So even if it’s not exactly where you wanted to go on your weekend getaway it gives you a way to affordably explore a new spot. If you’d like to learn more you can click here.
