This lakeside town in Ontario is absolutely breathtaking in the fall

Small-town vibes are the best vibes! There are so many reasons to visit the charming cottage country town of Bala, Ontario, the fall views being one of them.

Located where Lake Muskoka and the Moon River converge, downtown Bala is a must-visit small town.

However, few people know that this spot truly shines after the busy season crowds die down and the leaves begin to change.

The fall foliage provides the perfect backdrop as you browse in the trendy boutiques and stop for a meal along the waterfront.

There are natural attractions of all kinds to see in the area, including the Bala Falls and the boardwalk strolls of Hardy Lake Provincial Park and Hunter’s Bay.

The region is home to many beautiful nature trails, like the Gibson Lake Trail, Bala Historic Walk, and the Cranberry Trails at Johnston’s Cranberry Marsh.

Speaking of cranberries, people return to Bala for the town’s famous award-winning Cranberry Festival, which takes place every October.
