An insane Christmas lights display has reopened in Burnaby for the entire month

Following a couple weeks of forced closure due to crowds, the DuPlessis Family Christmas Display in Burnaby has been allowed to reopen. This massive, yearly display is created in support of the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Here’s a little more info.

Back on December 26th, the light display was ordered to shut down by the City of Burnaby. Apparently, the display was attracting large crowds, which of course did not blend well with current social distancing and events rules. It had only been open for a few weeks, even though it took most of November to set up.

Well, Christmas has come and gone, and Burnaby has once again allowed the light show to happen. The entire display is synchronized to music, running on a 12-minute loop. The light show will run from 4:30PM-12AM daily, and we’d describe it as a more wholesome, toned-down version of Danny DeVito’s house in Deck the Halls.

Even if you can’t make the trip out there, you can check out the display thanks to a YouTube video the family put out this year. And, if you’re in a giving mood, you can also donate online for their fundraiser.

Enjoy this last little bit of the holidays, folks!
