There are a bunch of alpaca farms near Toronto and here’s how to visit

If you’re not down to go to the alpaca farm, then you can just say you’re no fun. It came as a surprise to me that not only does Ontario have alpaca farms, but it has a lot of them. Yep, if you want to shake up your next road trip, I can’t think of a better way to do it than visiting with these fuzzy, gentle, and kind of hilarious creatures.

Windmill Point Alpaca Farm

Located just over two hours from Toronto, this alpaca farm is open to visitors and features eight fuzzy friends: Edison, Finnigan, Vagas, Axle, Guiness, Farley, Ethan, and Dante.

Make sure you book your time slot ahead of arrival.

Where: 24 Otter Ln., Coboconk, Ont.

Old Mill Alpacas

If you thought eight alpacas were a lot, try 57.

Old Mill is home to nearly 60 of these adorable guys, and it’s just an hour and 40 minutes by car from Toronto.

Where: 13557 Little Lake Rd., Colborne, Ont.

On The Brink Alpacas

In the heart of Niagara, this alpaca farm is an ideal location if you want to add a few other activities to your day trip away from the city.

Where: 2540 Rosedene Rd., St. Anns, Ont.

Udderly Ridiculous Inc.

This spot I’ve actually been to! Udderly Ridiculous not only has alpacas, but it also has Highland cows and goats.

Oh, did I mention you can have a picnic with them, too?

Where: 906200 Township Rd. 12, Bright, Ont.

Silver Heron Farm

“We offer a range of alpaca and farm fresh products, gifts and farm tours where you can get up close to our friendly farm animals – alpacas, cows, pigs and chickens,” shares Silver Heron Farm.

The farm is a quick (and scenic) drive from Toronto, and is open year-round.

Where: 324 Wagg Rd., Goodwood, Ont.

Hopefully, a fun-filled alpaca road trip is in your near future. And don’t forget to snap some photos!
