Spring is so close we can almost taste it, which means spending time outdoors is officially back on the agenda. What better way to kick off the spring season than hanging out with 100+ alpacas?
Kirks Alpaca Farm opens its doors for the 2026 season on March 18, 2026. Located in the hamlet of Torrington, just 90 minutes northeast of Calgary, it’s a perfect day-trip for families, friends or anyone interested in a unique experience.
Visitors will have an opportunity to stroll through pastures, snap some cute photos and hand-feed over 100+ alpacas.
There may even be some baby alpacas to meet. In addition to these fun-filled activities, they also have a basketball court, playground areas, plasma cars, and more.
But your experience doesn’t have to end there. You can set up a picnic and enjoy the prairie views or head over to their farm store, where they sell snacks, ice cream, and refreshments, then browse through their wide selection of alpaca products and other locally produced items.
Farm fresh eggs are available year-round, while vegetables will be available in the Fall.
Whether you’re an animal-lover or just looking for an immersive way to spend time outdoors, Kirks Alpaca Farm has something for everyone.
