This Alberta beach has soft sand & deep water where you may find “hidden treasures”

The sun is high and when it comes to how summer lovers will be soaking it up this season – a common answer is “on the sand.” Luckily, Alberta has several beaches that are perfect for making a splash – but only a few where you can do everything from scuba diving to paddle boarding.

Located in Stony Plain, Allan Beach is best known for its RV resort, but it also has an incredible day-use area with clear water that can reach a depth of 30 metres.

While you won’t be able to bring your dogs to this particular spot if you’re just visiting, guests are encouraged to hit the onsite store or lounge on the grassy area with fire pits… in addition to taking a dip.

What’s more, adventure seekers can windsurf, fish, and as previously mentioned, scuba dive!

In fact, the Lake was once used for scuba lessons due to its incredibly clean water.

“Today, you may still find some hidden treasures at the bottom of the lake including a mermaid,” they explain on their website.

Want to check out one of the most action-packed beaches in Alberta? A day pass only costs $15 per adult.

It’s going to be a long hot summer and it’s only a matter of time until you’ll need somewhere to cool off.

Happy tanning and enjoy!
