Wild Rose Country has a long hot summer ahead, so it’s only a matter of time until a beach is the coolest place to be.
Located less than 20 minutes from the Town of Slave Lake, Devonshire Beach is an Alberta oasis with 1.5 kilometres of soft sand and a serene view.
Whether you’re looking for somewhere to spend a day with family, friends, or your special someone, this stunning location is perfect for taking a sunny day dip, having a picnic, or building castles.
Here, the beach is groomed and well-maintained, plus, dogs are allowed as long as their humans pick up after them and they remain on their leash.
As if it couldn’t get any better, those who need a wheelchair won’t have to sit this one out because, not only do they have an accessible viewing platform with a ramp down the beach, but they also offer beach wheelchairs at the Marten River Campground.
Sound good enough to extend your stay?
The nearby Devonshire Beach Campground has 14 sites designated for RV’s with cooking and toilet facilities.
If you’d like to check it out, pack your bags and some snacks, then hit the road – but beware.
Adventure seekers from Calgary are for quite the drive, while those leaving from Edmonton will only have to be in the car for about 3 hours.
No matter where you’re visiting from, have fun and don’t forget to wear sunscreen, but hurry!
You only have until September to enjoy it.
