This flower festival in BC has over 100 kinds of tulips & you can walk in a sea of colours

It’s tulip season in BC, which means the province is blanketed in vibrant spring colours. And there’s no place to take it all in like the Abbotsford Tulip Festival at Lakeland Flowers.

With 35 acres of tulips and field flowers to explore, the festival marks the first of six months’ worth of flower festivals to come, as part of the largest summer floral experience in Canada. And with over 100 stunning tulip varieties to check out, this is the ultimate spring event to kick it all off.

Visitors in April and May can expect to find kilometres of scenic walking trails, rotating food trucks, and live music nights.

Ready for even more floral fun? The Abbotsford Summer Flower Fest begins with tulips, and ends with sunflowers. In between, visitors can check out acres of peonies, Siberian wallflowers, lavender, hydrangea, dahlias, snapdragons, and more.

Tickets & opening date

While the price of GA tickets has yet to be released, season passes are currently available online for $50 per person. This gives visitors access to the festival any weekday and on any operating day during the Summer Flower Festival.

As well, each pass includes 5 stems of u-pick sunflowers with every visit during sunflower season.

For an extra $10, visitors can add on admission to the festival on Mother’s Day.

Lakeland Flowers recommends purchasing tickets within seven days of a planned visit.

The festival’s tentative opening date for the season is April 15th, which will depend on Mother Nature’s timeline, according to Lakeland Flowers. The festival will run seven days a week, including holidays, from 8 am to dark.

Note that there is free parking available at 3663 Marion Road.

So mark your calendars and get excited, spring lovers! Tulip season is upon us.
