We’re all incredibly stoked for Halloween. Not only are there candy and scares galore, but one of our favourite things is checking out some of the cool, scary, and fun Halloween displays that spring up in our neighbourhoods. And, according to BC Hydro, massive Halloween displays are having a major uptick this year.

Some of our fondest Halloween memories were finding the biggest, scariest decorated house and checking it out! And it looks like that’s going to be the reality for a lot of Trick or Treaters this year. Because consumer spending on Halloween decorations is at an all-time high this year!

So, it really seems like the lacklustre Halloween we had last year has given everyone the urge to spook and celebrate the scariest day of the year. BC Hydro has even said that the energy consumption of Halloween displays might even outpace winter holiday displays if this trend continues.

And if you’ve seen more big, scary Halloween displays in your neighbourhood, you’re not alone. In fact, fifteen percent of British Columbians have noticed bigger and more Halloween decorations in their neighbourhood.

For us, this just means more scares, more fun, and, hopefully, more candy for Trick or Treat-ers come this Sunday.

Oh, and while we’re on the topic, we’re building an ultimate Trick or Treat Halloween guide and map and need your help! Check it out here.

We hope that your neighbourhood is in the scary Halloween spirit with some really cool, ghoulish displays.
