In case you missed it, a Reddit post over the weekend took the internet by storm, and we can totally see why. The photo, taken by Reddit user ‘Shawneffel’, depicts a perfectly frost-covered statue located in the VanDusen Botanical Garden. Let’s check it out!
The photo was posted in the subreddit r/OddlySatisfying, which is pretty much exactly what you’d expect. And, it looks like this photo really caught the zeitgeist, shooting to the front page and amassing some 110,000 ‘upvotes’ (which are more or less likes on the platform).

When asked about the location, the user said that he took it on a ‘cold morning’ in VanDusen. Listen, we don’t want to toot our own horns here, but for months we’ve been saying ‘check out VanDusen in the winter, it’s great’ and we were worried nobody was listening. Well, we definitely can’t claim to have pushed him over there, but it’s nice that the garden’s beauty was shared online.
While you’re unlikely to catch the same frost on the same statue, spring is absolutely one of the most beautiful times of the year to head there! Thanks again Shawneffel, for continuing to make the rest of the world envious of our city.
