A gorgeous new ‘Arts Education Centre’ has opened on Granville Island

Over the weekend, an amazing new arts education centre officially opened in Vancouver, and it’s right on Granville Island! The new home of Arts Umbrella, a local non-profit arts education organization that serves tens of thousands of people a year, looks both stunning and more importantly, functional. Let’s check it out!

The new facility is a whopping 50,000 square feet, and features dance studios, theatres, media labs, design studios, and more! And while they had a solid base (it’s the old Emily Carr building), they’ve spent almost three years and millions of dollars getting it ready. Basically, if you have an interest in a kind of art, Arts Umbrella is there to support you as you explore and learn about it.

Sadly, Arts Umbrella only offers classes for those 22 and younger. But, we’re sure that this amazing new facility will play host to countless art exhibitions, plays, film screenings and more once they’re allowed to. After all, you can’t have a space this nice and not show it off every once in a while. Even still, we might have to recommend a class or two for our friends/relatives with children of their own.

If you’re thinking the same thing, then we highly recommend that you check out the new website for this amazing facility, and explore it yourself. If that tickles your fancy, just click the link below!
