Toronto’s fried chicken game is about to be next level. The famous California-born joint, Dave’s Hot Chicken, is opening a new location in Parkdale this winter. The resto is known for its unbelievable chicken tenders, sliders, and sandwiches, with spice levels that are off the charts. So needless to say, we’re pretty jazzed it’s opening a location here.
So the story behind this spicy spot is actually pretty sweet. The original idea was started in 2017 by four childhood friends. Back then it was just a pop-up in a parking lot in L.A., but huge customer demand allowed them to expand into what they are today. Now there are hundreds of Dave’s Hot Chicken locations across the United States and 30 locations on their way to Canada.

Of course, it’s no surprise the spot is popular. They use seven signature spice bends to craft their chicken creations. The sandwiches, sliders, and tenders are available on a spice scale from “No Heat” to “Reaper”. Plus, they’ve got delicious sides like fries, mac & cheese, and kale slaw. We recommend lining up items from each spice level and seeing how much heat you can take.
The spot is set to open in Parkdale this month so keep your eyes peeled for that. You’ll be able to get your hands on their grub as takeout or through you favourite delivery apps.
