Remember the good old days of running away from home after an argument with your parents? Well, this 5-year-old driver took it a whole lot further than we ever did. And get this, the argument was over a Lamborghini.
“You’re 5 years old! Wow”
On Monday, May 5th, a 5-year-old Utah resident hopped in his parent’s car and started driving to California with the intent to buy a Lamborghini. And this was just after his mother told him that she would not buy him said supercar. And if you’re reading this thinking what did I just read? Well, that was our original reaction too. And we thought that this spectacular story couldn’t be true…but it is.

One of our Troopers in Weber Co. initiated a traffic stop on what he thought was an impaired driver. Turns out it was this young man, age 5, somehow made his way up onto the freeway in his parents’ car. Of course at the age of 5, you can’t really be a master driver so luckily a Utah Trooper spotted what they thought was an impaired driver. And boy oh boy was the trooper surprised when he looked in the car to see a 5-year-old child. Honestly, we would be too. And if you need a bit of a laugh, watch the dashcam footage here.
But hey, you kinda have to admire this child’s go-getter attitude. And we really would have liked to see what Lamborghini would say about his $3 offer. But with that in mind, we think this kid is going places but just not behind the steering wheel anytime soon.
