North Americans can catch a dazzling 4-planet alignment with the naked eye on Saturday

Don’t mind getting up before the sun does? You could be in for something spectacular! Tomorrow morning, Saturday, April 30th a dazzling planetary alignment will be visible across North America to the naked eye – but here’s what you need to know in order to see it.

As confirmed by NASA – neighboring planets Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn will appear in a straight line just above the southeast horizon this weekend – looking incredibly cozy to each other in our sky.

As always when it comes to spacetactic events, your location will play a role in what you get to see and for how long – with some being given a better geographic seat than others.

Cities such as Vancouver, Seattle, and Toronto will have the best view – with all planets big, bright, and beautifully lit up in the wee hours of the morning; Alternatively, major Alberta locations like Calgary, will only have a few minutes to see all four orbs, while Edmontonians will only really see Saturn as it travels along its path – according to timeanddate.com.

The Following are the best times to see the planets in action in your area:

  • Calgary – 5:20 am – 5:27 am
  • Vancouver – 4:57 am – 5:12 am
  • Seattle – 4:51 am – 5:20 am
  • Toronto –  5:11 am – 5:42 am

If, of course, you’d like an even better view binoculars and telescopes will help – though they’re not necessary to catch a glimpse.

It’s going to be a special one, folks – so set an alarm and enjoy!
