Buckle up, Vancouver, because we’re in for some next-level heat this week. The City of Vancouver and Environment Canada have both issued heat warnings, which are valid across the province.
On Monday, August 14th, Environment Canada issued a “prolonged heat wave” along the South Coast, with temperatures reaching as high as 37°C away from water.
This warning is in effect until Wednesday, August 16th – so we figured we’d share some ways to beat the heat in the meantime.
With that in mind, here are some ways to stay cool during the heatwave in Vancouver.

Next up, we’ve got some refreshing spray parks. There are actually quite a few of them around the city, and they’re available on a first-come, first-served basis. Here, buttons located around the park will activate water features for 5 minutes at a time, to help conserve the city’s water usage.
Finally – we’ve got some wading pools to add to the mix, if those are more your jam.
So there you have it, Vancouver. Check out a new spray park or pool out of your usual routine, and stay cool!
