Happy Thursday, Edmonton! We hoped that you’ve had a nice week so far, and are ready to make the most of the weekend. Alberta actually moved into Stage 2 of the reopening this week as well, which means tons more options for you moving forward. So, let’s see what we can get up to!

Here are 10 things to do in Edmonton this weekend.

HEAD DOWN TO THE 104TH STREET PROMENADE

Al Fresco on 4th returns for another summer this weekend! Every Saturday, head down to this pedestrian-only promenade to enjoy food trucks, extended patio areas, and a local market for a little bit of shopping. Great for those looking to support local businesses.

FINALLY RETURN TO THE MUTTART CONSERVATORY

After just under 2 years of waiting, the Muttart Conservatory has reopened to the public! The iconic Edmonton landmark originally closed for renovations and updates back in 2019, but the pandemic really threw a wrench in their reopening plan. But hey, they’re back just in time for summer, so we’re not complaining.

CHECK OUT AN ART WALK

SEE WHAT’S NEW AT THE ZOO

For the first time since it officially reopened, the Edmonton Valley Zoo is letting people check out the indoor exhibits! We love the zoo no matter what, but we’re super pumped that we can check out the weirder/more tropical animals chilling around down there.

GRAB A BURGER WITH YOUR BUDDIES

OR HAVE A BACKYARD PIZZA PARTY

On the note of delicious, greasy food, we have to mention the newest pizza place in town. Young & Restless is the latest concept from the folks behind Fox Burger, which is actually on our burger list. If you feel like a pizza party is better than backyard burgers this weekend, make sure to check it out.

When: Now open!

GO SEE A MOVIE

Yes, that’s right, you can actually go watch a movie in a theatre this weekend. Cineplex has reopened all of their theatres across Alberta, and are eager to get movie fans back in their seats! For those looking for an actual theatre experience, instead of watching something on your couch, this is welcome news.

ENJOY A FREE VIRTUAL FESTIVAL

For over 20 years, Nextfest has been an amazing way to see all the emerging talent that Edmonton has to offer. Although it’s online this year, you’ll still be able to check out over 100 different events, ranging from poetry reading to films to artist showcases. The best part? It’s all free!

SEE IF YOU HAVE A FEAR OF HEIGHTS

Ready to find your aerial limit? The Snow Valley Aerial Park has now reopened for the summer! This beloved local attraction is a great way to get outside this summer. And as an extra bonus, two more attractions are set to open this year as well- a mining experience, and a target golf area!

PLAY A GAME OF FOOD-BASED BINGO

We’ll be the first to admit that a round of food-based bingo is right up our alley. For the next couple of weeks, getting specific dishes or treats from spots along 124th Street will get you entry into a draw with a massive grand prize. Plus, the first people to complete a line on the card will receive a bonus gift!

Alright folks, that’s what we’ve got in mind this weekend! We hope that you enjoy it.
