Happy Thursday, Edmonton! It looks like we’re in store for some brisk spring weather this weekend, but we don’t mind too much. Why? Well, it’s right in that sweet spot where if you decide to leave the house you’ll be happy you did, but staying at home doesn’t come with any guilt, either. And, we’ve got options for both!

Here are 10 things to do in Edmonton this weekend.

WATCH A METEOR SHOWER

The Lyrid Meteor Shower has been heating up, offering (hopefully) dozens of chances to see one every hour. And wouldn’t you know it, Elk Island doubles as a national dark sky nature preserve! Grab some snacks and some beverages and go enjoy this natural wonder.

HIT THE LINKS

What we like about golf is that it straddles the line between a hobby and a sport. Feeling competitive? Walk the course and try to hit a new low score. Really just looking to kick back for a few hours outside? That’s practically what golf carts were created for.

When: Public courses now open!
Where: Locations around Edmonton
Cost: Varies

GO BIRD WATCHING

Welcome to the easiest bird-watching expedition you’ll go on all year. Three massive, glowing, inflatable chickadees have landed on the roof of the CO*LAB Building, and they’re just waiting for you to see them. Our advice? Try and get there for dusk, and mix in the sunset with the trip.

When: On until April 30th
Where: 9641 102A Ave

HEAD TO THE ZOO

For a more diverse animal experience (and a live one to boot), you can always head to the Edmonton Zoo! While the indoor exhibits are closed for the foreseeable future, you’ll still be able to enjoy all the outdoor ones. Watching red pandas zoom around? Yes, please!

When: Open throughout the week
Where: 13315 Buena Vista Road
Cost: $10.95 (reduced price)

And that’s our list for you this weekend, folks! We hope you can have some fun during these chilly, yet not chilly, spring days.
