Welcome to the first full week of 2022, Vancouver! We’re hoping to kick the year off on a good note, and we’ve got more than a few ideas in mind for how to do it. If you’re feeling the same, then keep reading!

Here are the 10 best things to do in Vancouver this week.

Vancouver Warriors

For those craving something a little different in the sports department, know that the Vancouver Warriors kicked off their season recently! Hot take- lacrosse, and especially box lacrosse, can be just as intense and thrilling as pro hockey. Don’t believe us? Check out a game for yourself!

Canyon Lights

Not ready to let go of the holiday cheer? Neither are we. And obviously, Canyon Lights at the Capilano Suspension Bridge is a very easy pick, no matter your age!

Italian Film Week

Start 2022 on a movie-loving note! VIFF Centre is hosting Italian Film Week starting this Friday, showing both contemporary and classic options. Whether you’re finally ready to watch a Fellini movie or are craving something new, they’ve got choices for you.

Imagine Picasso

This is the last week to check out this immersive installation focusing on the iconic painter. The exhibition comes from the same folks as Imagine Van Gogh, so you can expect some seriously high-quality projections of the famous artist’s work.

When: Open throughout the week
Where: 1055 Canada Place
Tickets: $34.99

Grouse Mountain

Of course, one of the things that actually benefit from snowfall is a trip to the ski hill! This week we’re picking Grouse, which has got a wide range of runs and terrains for every skill level. Play hooky one day, or scoot over after work instead!

When: Open throughout the week
Where: 6400 Nancy Greene Way, North Vancouver
Cost: Varies

Lights to the Lodge

Maybe a full day of skiing isn’t really your vibe, but you still want to get outside this week. Another great option is the Lights to the Lodge, a snowshoe light walk that will have you exploring Cypress Mountain’s nordic area, their historic Hollyburn Lodge, and more!

When: Open throughout the week
Where: 6000 Cypress Bowl Road, West Vancouver
Cost: $28.80+

Snow Tubing

Tubing (or tobogganing) is certainly a rare opportunity for Vancouverites. If your local hill doesn’t have what you need, you can enjoy both on dedicated hills at Mt. Seymour. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a family-friendly day trip, or as a way to unwind after a day on the actual slopes.

When: Open throughout the week
Where: 1700 Mt Seymour Road, North Vancouver
Cost: $29

Ice Skating around Vancouver

We’re pleased as punch that both of Metro Vancouver’s ice skating areas have reopened for the winter! Head down to the Shipyards Skate Plaza and Robson Square Ice Rink for some hot laps with family or friends. Plus, if you bring your own skates, both of these options are free!

When: Open throughout the weekend
Where: 125 Victory Ship Way, North Vancouver and 800 Robson Street
Cost: Free to access

Bloedel Conservatory

We’re wrapping up this list with a couple of spots that manage to put a smile on our face, no matter the situation. First up is the Bloedel Conservatory, which offers an amazing array of tropical plants and birds to chill out with. You can’t look at a cool parrot and not feel better, it’s science.

When: Open throughout the week
Where: 4600 Cambie Street
Cost: $7.05

Vancouver Aquarium

Speaking of science, the same is true with checking out adorable ocean critters. Whether you want to identify with jellyfish freely floating around, or otters playing, the Vancouver Aquarium is a great way to kick off the new year.

When: Open throughout the week
Where: 845 Avison Way
Cost: $42 for GA

That’s our list for this week, Vancouver!
