We had so much fun with the first round of Motor Nights that we’ve decided to do it again! We’re showing 8 different movies all weekend, ranging from feel-good classics (The Princess Bride) to some truly spooky stuff (The Conjuring). Round up your pals and come check it out!

FIND THE LORD OF THE WINGS

This outdoor concert series has only a few instalments left! A collaborative effort from some of the city’s best breweries and restaurants, this series pairs live music with wings, craft cocktails and local beers. How can you go wrong with a setup like that?

LAUGH IT UP AT A COMEDY FESTIVAL

That’s right, we want you to laugh it up this weekend, pals. The Grindstone Comedy Fest has returned for its second year, and we think it’s a great local initiative to support. Plus, with standout, sketches and improv shows to enjoy there’s something for everyone on tap.

TREAT YOURSELF TO SOME ICE CREAM

Ready for a sweet treat to beat the heat? A new option awaits you in Strathcona! Drizzle Ice Cream only opened earlier this month, but they’re bringing the noise with soft serve, dips, drizzles and even vegan options to enjoy. Ice cream is the quintessential summer treat, and we think this is a great addition.

WATCH AN AIRSHOW

Wanting a more unconventional pick? We’ve got just the thing. An airshow goes down in Camrose this weekend, featuring helicopters, fighter jets, and a display from the CF Snowbirds themselves. It’s a tailgate-style setting, which is perfect for a little friends trip or something.

HAVE A TASTE OF EDMONTON

That’s right folks, the beloved outdoor food and drink festival comes back this week! There are over 50 participating food trucks and restaurants this year, which means you’ve got all sorts of delicious options to try.

ENJOY THE NEW SUMMER FUN MIDWAY

Here’s another major option kicking off this week! The Edmonton Summer Fun Midway is taking over the Edmonton Expo Grounds. Expect tons of midway attractions like rides and arcade games, food vendors, and more at this family-friendly event.

EXPLORE THE BIG ISLAND

Ready to be weirdly nostalgic? Say hello to Big Island, a formerly very popular destination just outside Edmonton. Alberta is home to quite a few waterparks, both indoors and out! While West Edmonton Mall is the obvious choice, you should know that you’ve got a couple other options, if you’re willing to make the trip.

IMAGINE VAN GOGH

After a number of delays, the long-awaited immersive exhibit that took Vancouver by storm is finally open in Edmonton! Originally from Europe, this exhibition showcases the artist’s best works on a larger-than-life scale, using high-quality projectors and audio for a more immersive experience.
