Well folks, we hope you enjoyed that little taste of winter weather over the weekend! And while this week is set to be chilly as well, we’ve got some nice, sunny and relatively warm weather ahead. So, we think it’s time to make the most of it, don’t you think?

Here are 10 of the best things to do in Edmonton this week.

CANDY CANE LANE

One of Edmonton’s most iconic holiday experiences returns this week! Candy Cane Lane is a Christmas light extravaganza, featuring a whole bunch of incredible decorations that have been around for over 50 years. The best part? It’s free to check out!

TENILLE TOWNES

Ready to check out a live concert again? The Alberta-born, JUNO Award-winning country artist Tenille Townes is touching down in Edmonton this week! Check out the album, The Lemonade Stand, love it, then buy some tickets! It’s as simple as that.

LASER FLOYD

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again- a laser show at the Zeigler Dome is one of the best and most unique experiences Edmonton has to offer. Get immersed in songs from Pink Floyd’s classic album Dark Side of the Moon as you watch an incredible light show.

When: Friday, December 10th
Where: 11211 142 Street NW
Cost: $14.95

ROYAL BISON ART & CRAFT FAIR

Still searching for a present for that special someone? One great option you can check out this week is the Royal Bison Art Fair. You can shop online anytime, but they’ll also be available for last-minute in person shopping this weekend!

MUTTART CONSERVATORY

If you’re not feeling winter’s chilly embrace, remember that the Muttart Conservatory is back in action! Take a trip to this incredible indoor garden in the city, which we admit might double as one of our favourite buildings in the city.

CITADEL THEATRE

An all-time holiday classic, A Christmas Carol, has arrived at the Citadel Theatre! If you’re looking to get in the Christmas spirit in a particularly artsy way, then this is a great option.

ZOOMINESCENCE

You’ll get to see the zoo transformed by dazzling light installations, ranging from ‘Aurora Animals’ to a ‘Carnivore Canopy’. With dozens of different installations stretching practically across the entire zoo, the experience is a great way to deal with those early sundown blues we all know and love.

When: On throughout the week
Where: 13315 Buena Vista Road
Cost: $14.95 for GA

EDMONTON OILERS

The Oilers have got not one, but two home games to check out during this week! They’ll be facing off against the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday, then are up against the Boston Bruins on Thursday. Our prediction? That’s easy, they’re winning both handily.

LUMINARIA

The wondrous Luminaria experience at the U of A Botanic Garden has kicked off as well! The stunning attraction will be transforming some of the best parts of the garden- so you can expect seasonal treats, live entertainment, and of course, some amazing displays.

When: Open throughout the week
Where: 51227 AB-60, Spruce Grove
Tickets: $21 for GA

RABBIT HILL

One big draw of Rabbit Hill? With over 40 acres when fully open, the hill is actually the largest to check out in the city. That means more runs and a pretty big terrain park to check out, if you feel like this is this year you get steezy. Sorry, we haven’t watched freestyle skiing vids since the early Tom Wallisch days.

When: Open throughout the week
Where: 20715 57 Avenue SW
Cost: Varies

Those are our picks for this week! Have fun out there, Edmonton!
